Typography and Scale

When you think of scale in terms of Typography many things come to my mind. Scaling elements in relation to each other is often a very important way of setting up organization, navigation, and contrast. Headings often come to mind when thinking of scale. Scale also brings to mind the typographic scale, the numeric values of all the sizes like the scale shown below. Scale, to me, is more of a tool used to give your text hierarchy and make it easy to determine sections of text. I often use it as a synonym for size, but I’ll go into that later.
